Cookies policy

What are cookies?

The word “cookie” means biscuit, but in relation to web browsing, a “cookie” is something completely different.

When you access our website, a small amount of text called a “cookie” is stored on your device’s browser. This text includes information about your browsing habits, preferences, content personalisation, etc.

There are other technologies that work in a similar way and that are also used to collect data about your browsing activity. We will refer to all these types of technologies as “cookies”.

The specific uses we make of these technologies are described in this document.

What are the cookies on this website used for?

Cookies are an essential part of how our website works. The main purpose of our cookies is to improve your browsing experience. For example, to remember your preferences (language, country, etc.) during browsing and on future visits. The information collected in the cookies also allows us to improve the website, adapt it to your interests as a user, speed up the searches you make, etc.

In certain cases, if we have obtained your prior informed consent, we may use cookies for other purposes, for example to obtain information that allows us to show you advertising based on an analysis of your browsing habits.

What are the cookies on this website NOT used for?

No sensitive personally identifiable information such as your name, address, password, etc. is stored in the cookies we use.

Who uses the information stored in these cookies?

The information stored in the cookies on our website is only used by us, with the exception of those identified below as ‘third party cookies’, which are used and managed by external companies that provide us with services that improve the experience of our users. For example, the statistics collected about the number of visits, the most liked content, etc. are usually managed by Google Analytics.

How can I avoid cookies being used on this website?

If you prefer to avoid cookies being used, you can REJECT their use or you can MANAGE the ones you want to avoid and the ones you agree to being used (in this document we provide you with further information on each type of cookie, their purpose, recipient, duration, etc.).

If you have accepted them, we will not ask you again unless you delete the cookies on your device as described in the next section.

If you want to revoke your consent, you will have to delete your cookies and reset them.

How do I disable and remove cookies?

You can restrict, block or delete cookies from this website (and those used by third parties) at any time by modifying your browser settings. Bear in mind that this configuration is different in each browser, although it is common to find the cookie settings in the ‘Preferences’ ‘Tools’ ‘Options’ menu and then in ‘Privacy and Security’ or in ‘delete browsing data’, etc.

For more details on how to configure cookies in each browser, you can consult the browser’s ‘Help’ menu.

What types of cookies are used on this website?

Each website uses its own cookies. We use the following on our website:

BASED ON THE ENTITY THAT MANAGES THEM

  • Own cookies: these are cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the website administrator and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: these are cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the website administrator, but by another company that processes the data obtained through the cookies. In the event that the cookies are sent from a computer or domain managed by the website administrator, but the information collected through these cookies is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered as own cookies if the third party uses them for its own purposes (for example, to improve the services it provides or to provide advertising services for other companies).

BASED ON THEIR PURPOSE

  • Technical cookies: are the cookies necessary for browsing and for the proper functioning of our website, such as, for example, for controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing areas with restricted access, remembering the elements included in an order, carrying out the purchase process for an order, managing the payment, controlling fraud linked to the security of the service, applying for registration or to participate in an event, counting visits for the purposes of charging for licences for the software with which the service works (website, platform or application), using security elements during browsing, storing content when broadcasting videos or sound, enabling dynamic content (e.g. loading text or image animation) or sharing content via social media.
  • Analysis cookies: these allow us to quantify the number of users and thus monitor and statistically analyse the use made by users of the service offered. To do this, we analyse your browsing on our website in order to improve the range of products or services we offer you.
  • Preference or personalisation cookies: these are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be shown when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.
  • Behavioural advertising: these are cookies which, when processed by us or by third parties, allow us to analyse your browsing habits on the internet so that we can show you advertising related to your browsing profile.

BASED ON THE TIME THEY REMAIN ACTIVE

  • Session cookies: these are designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a web page. They are typically used to store information that is only relevant for providing the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g. a list of products purchased) and they are deleted at the end of the session.
  • Persistent cookies: these are cookies in which the data remain stored on the terminal and that can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years. In this respect, users should specifically assess whether the use of persistent cookies is necessary, as privacy risks could be reduced by the use of session cookies. In any case, when persistent cookies are installed, it is recommended that their duration be reduced to the minimum necessary, taking into account the purpose of their use. To this end, WG29 Opinion 4/2012 indicated that for a cookie to be exempt from the duty of informed consent, its expiry must be related to its purpose. Because of this, session cookies are much more likely to be considered exceptions than persistent cookies.
